Pilot Nº 001

Want to be one of the first 50?

Ever + Hence is just beginning. Before I turn it into a paid monthly project, I want to send the first one to 50 random people and find out what the experience is actually like from the other side of the envelope.

There's no charge for Pilot Nº 001. I'll make it, pack it and mail it to you. Your part is simply to receive it, experience it however you naturally would, and then tell me what you actually thought.

I need honest feedback. I need useful feedback. What did you notice first? What did you keep? What did you use? Was anything confusing or unnecessary? Did you look forward to opening it? Would you want another one?

That feedback is the whole reason for doing the pilot.

What might be inside?

I'm deliberately not publishing an exact contents list because part of Ever + Hence is not knowing everything before it arrives.

You can expect the kinds of things I've been talking about throughout the project: original art, paper, something handmade, something to read or try, an observation, a prompt, something inspired by nature, or another small thing I thought was worth sending.

Pilot Nº 001 will include one of the original little paintings I'm making for the project.

What I'm asking from you

  • You have a valid mailing address where you can receive the envelope.
  • You're willing to give me honest feedback after it arrives.
  • You understand that this is a pilot, so part of the point is helping me figure out what works and what doesn't.
  • You're okay with not knowing exactly what will arrive.
  • If you don't already know me, even better. I especially want feedback from people who have never met me.

Who is this for?

Ever + Hence is for people who miss getting something real in the mail. People who like art, paper, nature, making things, noticing things, keeping little bits and pieces, or simply having something unexpected interrupt an ordinary day.

You don't need to be an artist. You don't need to journal. You don't need to know anything about abstract art.

You just need to be curious.

About You

You might be someone who notices things.

You like paper, art, books, gardens, nature, handwritten notes, interesting little objects, old things, new ideas, good packaging, independent makers, or the feeling of finding something you weren't expecting.

Maybe you keep journals. Maybe you buy them and then don't write in them.

Maybe you save creative ideas you fully intend to try one day.

Maybe you like wandering through markets, bookstores, garden centres or thrift shops without necessarily needing anything.

You might be creative yourself, although you don't have to consider yourself an artist. You may simply like making things, cooking, gardening, decorating, collecting, photographing, writing, rearranging, experimenting or noticing how things fit together.

You probably appreciate thing that have a person behind them.

And maybe, like me, you sometimes feel as though life has become very efficient, very digital and very predictable.

Ever + Hence isn't meant to fix any of that.

It's just meant to interrupt it once in a while.

If that sounds familar, you're probably the kind of person I had in mind.

About Me

I'm Kevin, and Ever + Hence is basically where a lot of the things I'm interested in finally get to live together.

I paint. I work with paper. I make things by hand. I spend a lot of time outside and tend to notice small things –– plants, birds, colours, textures, weather, bits of something on the ground that most sensible people probably just walk past.

I'm naturally curious and I have a habit of becoming very interested in something, learning everything I can about it, trying it, making something from it and eventually wandering off the path toward the next interesting thing.

I'm an INFJ-A and an intuitive empath, which probably explains some of the noticing. I tend to pay attention to people, atmosphere, details and the things that aren't always being said out loud.

Nature is a big part of how I reset and how I see the world, so it will inevitably find its way into Ever + Hence too.

Some months, that might mean art.

Another month it could be paper, a photograph, something collected or pressed, a piece of writing, something handmade, an idea I've been thinking about, a small experiment, music, something to try, something to give away, or something I haven't even thought of yet.

That unpredictability is intentional.

I'm not trying to build a monthly production line where I make the same number of things forever.

I'm trying to make something thoughtful, follow whatever is genuinely interesting me at the time, and send a little bit of that curiosity and wonder out into the world.

That's the personality behind Ever + Hence.

I want in.

Pilot Nº 001 is limited to 50 recipients. Filling out the form below requests a place in the pilot; it doesn't guarantee one. If you're selected, I'll confirm it with you by email.

If there are more than 50 requests, don't worry –– you can also choose to join the Ever + Hence email list so I can let you know when the next mailing becomes available. Pilot Nº 001 is the free test run; the next edition is planned as the first paid Ever + Hence mailing.
